I am running a promotion celebrating the release later this month of my new book, Bigfoot is Not Your Friend (available for pre-order on Kindle and in paperback). So, I am offering Highmage’s Plight free for a limited time on Kindle.

If you are not familiar with Plight, you will meet George Bradley, an archaeologist from the future, who is about to fall through a Gate left behind by the elves… and is about to find himself being hailed as something impossible, a human mage. As part of my launch this month, I’ve also a free novella ( a prequel to the new novel), Apocalypse Knot.

The new series is a somewhat satirical apocalyptic adventure set in our near future. The prequel takes place about seven months before events in Bigfoot is Not Your Friend. It’s inspired a bit by Orson Scott Card’s Enders game, but not on so grand a galactic scale…

Apocalypse Knot is the story of a girl who dreams of fighting a tank in the Apocalypse, who just want to go to an all boys military academy specializing in tank warfare and history. She one last opportunity to go to the school—but to do so she must enter a miniature robotic tank competition with a WWII-era designed tank the size of a go-cart.
