Writing Progress and Other News
First, something to share, if you’re a writer and want to get published, and have no idea about the “business” of being a writer, there’s an annual conference coming up in February 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado you need to check out, Superstars Writing Seminar. Why am I promoting the seminar? I first attended in 2011 and a year later had my first book contract. I’m not saying that will happen to you, but… the conference helped me a lot. It’s run by Kevin J. Anderson, Eric Flint, David Farland and other bestselling authors and offers insight into how publishing, marketing and the rest work, whether you’re interested in getting an agent and traditional publishing or going Indy. Now, let’s say you can’t exactly afford the cost. There’s a scholarship available you should consider applying for (with a deadline of October 10, 2021).
On the writing progress side, I’ve now completed my second draft of Bigfoot Hunting, which is currently running at over a hundred thousand words. The story starts where Bigfoot is Not Your Friend, the first book in the series, leaves off and weaves in the characters and events in my prequel novella, Apocalypse Knot, currently only available in ebook formats. I’m now considering a paperback edition of the novella since I’ll be at a number of sci fi & fantasy conventions and a writer’s conference during the fall and winter.
Before doing my next draft of Bigfoot Hunting I’ll be working on the Changeling Knight, Book Two of the Knights’ Tower, which I’m midway through writing. Both books are planned for 2022 releases. In Changeling, the story started in the series prequel, Last Knight, comes full circle as Sir Harold must try to forge an alliance with the last of the free kingdoms before the two expanding Empires crush them all… While the changeling knight tries to set things right in her own way in this world of treachery and betrayal. Knights’ Tower was inspired by my love of the Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern Series, where what appears fantasy is anything but.
Whether inspired to write action adventure apocalyptic satire or a lone knight on a world we might mistake for our own, by design… I invite you to check out my stories, whether free novellas, introducing you to my worlds, or to check out my novels available on Amazon.
I have two free novellas this month: Apocalypse Knot, prequel to Bigfoot in Not Your Friend, and Last Knight, prequel to Knight of the Broken Table that are featured in the group promo Battle for the Future: Fantasy & Sci Fi Adventure Giveaway. Knight of the Broken Table will next appear later this month and in October in Fall Fun Science Fiction & Fantasy in Kindle Unlimited.
Lastly, my novella, The Dragon’s Curse is featured in the promo, Worlds of Wonder. The Dragon’s Curse is a prequel to my Highmage’s Plight and Hands of the Highmage Series and will introduce you to a world of Elvin magic where human’s are known to have none, but is that true? A human, Lord of a distant Cursed land, came to the Elvin Empire’s rescue and drove off the dragon leading the Demonlord’s assault on their borders… But now he knows the terrible secret that can forever change the Dark Prophecy—but it hinges on his finding that wounded dragon—whose Curse is worse than any can imagine.
Dare to Believe,
