For Whom the Bell Trolls Free on Kindle for a Limited Time!
I’ve shared I attended the Superstars Writing Seminar this year…
One of the things I love about attending the seminar is the people I’ve gotten to know…
One of those I’ve become friends with is Patric Ryan, an expert on Nikola Tesla, who loves visiting sites where Tesla did his experiments.
In his travels, he discovered that Nikola’s trusted assistant had no headstone. No marker at all, so there was nothing even commemorating his part in Tesla’s work, which helped change the world into one we take for granted today.
What was Patric to do? He ran a Kickstarter, with the family’s permission, to purchase a proper headstone, which ended up recognizing not just their grandfather, Tesla’s first assistant, but those buried in the family plot, including the assistant’s son, who followed in his father’s footsteps and assisted Tesla, too.
I was touched by that Kickstarter request, and donated.
What I didn’t expect was any recognition for supporting that endeavor, but Patric gave me something as a thank you when he saw me at the conference..
The assistant’s family hadn’t understood why their grandfather had a pile of silver shavings when he died, but Patric did. Nikola paid his assistant as best he was able—with the silver shavings of the parts of the valuable metal he discarded, not needed in his experiments.
The family gave the shavings to Patric, who gave them to the Kickstarter donors personally. I’m incredibly honored to have a silver sharing, which Patric presented in a small glass container. (Pictured above.)
Now, to share a link to may latest free novel—for a limited time only, For Whom the Bell Trolls is free on Kindle.
For Whom the Bell Trolls is the first of four books that are set in the world of Highmage’s Plight. I asked myself what happens to the characters when they’re off the stage of the main story… and was able to expand the scope of the Plight, sharing those stories in this companion series.
Meet two trolls, first introduced in Highmage’s Plight, who wonder what happened to their strange rather ugly friend.
While years later a little girl reads their story in a magic book—the story of trolls seeking her father… So begins a tale that is inspired a bit by Michael Ende’s The Neverending Story, a fantasy story within a story.
My novella, Last Knight, a prequel to my Knights Tower series, is featured this month in the promo, FREE SCI-FI, Fantasy, and Paranormal, where you can find a lot more free stories to help enjoy the last days of winter.
Dare 2 Believe,
