Triple Dare Coming Soon

I had an idea during one of the worst periods of my life. Well, several ideas for a story about a story, when my life was feeling as if I were Gulliver in Gulliver’s Travels. That left me with a sense of escapism and feeling a bit sarcastic about life and the world in general. So, I channeled my creativity and wrote the five book first draft of Dare2Believe.

It only took four months to write three hundred and forty thousand words. Hmm, looking back that does seem to have been the most productive pace I’ve ever had writing, first draft or not.

Now when I wrote them I hadn’t published any of my books and I’d been “secretly” writing for years. Well, it started more as privately writing back in college and starting to get rejection letters from publishers and magazines. I was too young to realize at that point how valuable those rejections letters words, or even notice when I got words of encouragement from editors who actually commented on my writing and stories… They certainly didn’t have to and that should have signaled, though my writing needing work, the stories were being read by editors who felt that needed to write something personal on a form rejection letter.

And after that writing jag, I decided I didn’t care how many rejections letters I was going to get anymore, I was going to get published… I’d been re-writing novels for years. I sent them out to publishers and submitted short stories. I picked up Honorable Mentions in the Writers of the Future Contest, my stories began to get published, and I sold my first novel… and began working with an editor, honing my writing and stories, too.

As my books began to get published, I kept working on drafts of first book one in the series, Dare 2 Believe, then later, Double Dare. I ended up reworking those two books, which became three books instead. Now years later the third installment of the series, Triple Dare, is about to debut.

Cover art is in design and as ever is taking longer than I’d hoped. So, I’m looking forward to when I can do a cover reveal before the book is released in the coming weeks.

As ever, Dare to Believe,

D.H.

Part satire on pop culture, wanting to be young again, wanting to become a troll as the world as we know it comes to an end… oh, and this time, the important of Kung Fu in saving the world.
