Sir Harold is the last knight of his Order. The kingdom of Lasdrah is in sorry shape, poor, filled with refugees desperate enough to flee to the last kingdom on the continent, which borders the Forbidden.

His Order is supposed to keep the peace and defend the border—but how can he? He’s the last knight, who isn’t exactly respected. Worse, he’s the only person in the entire world who can enter the Knight’s Tower, which literally towers over the palace and everyone thinks it is filled with treasure.

Truth be told, it holds secrets that those of the Order may never reveal—truths that could overturn not just the kingdom, but are the last defense should this world face disaster.

Now he’s faced with a challenge—a dragon’s been sighted. That’s impossible. There aren’t any anymore. The King orders him to investigate and this knight is about to have the adventure of his life—while having to deal with a mad prince, his steam powered dragon and spies and assassins bent on seeing the poor kingdom fall to one expanding empire—or the other.
