This month's free story and latest about forthcoming book

Where do ideas Come from? Well, funny story…

Years ago, I remember a news story about a cartridge company that had seen slumping sales. At their Monday morning sales meeting after many of the staff had played for hours on their Xbox over the weekend, one staff member joked, “We could sell Zombie bullets.”

They all laughed. Then the boss asked something along the lines, “What calibre might that be?”

Answer, “A calibre that doesn’t fit any gun. It’ll be a novelty item.” I recall what happened next as they couldn’t keep up with the demand for the Zombie bullets, which made their sales soar.

Hmm, I thought, there’s a story idea here. And, having a twisty mind, I came up with a story about everyone who was prepared getting the wrong apocalypse and a rather mad action adventure of surviving the end of the world.

My Kickstarter of the next book in the Apocalypse Knot is more than worth checking out. The sf has a bit of dark side, it being the apocalypse, after all, but it’s also a lot of fun. I’d appreciate any support even if its just a signal boost on social media.

I’m coming out with revised editions of the first two books in the series: Bigfoot Is Not Your Friend and Bigfoot Hunting and some never before published paperbacks of companion novella trilogies. There’s also bonus stories once we hit the Kickstarter goal.

Among those bonus stories is a never before published short story featuring Robin Hood and a prequel tale to my Highmage’s Plight series.

I hope you’ll check out my Kickstarter. My goal is modest and it’s now more than 50% funded.

In other news, if you are looking for free stories, my novella, Dragon’s Curse, a prequel story to my Highmage’s Plight and Hands of the Highmage series, is featured this month in the promo, May Fantasy/Sci-Fi Freebies, where you can find a lot more free stories.

So, Dare 2 Believe,

D.H.
