Author Update
Life does throw a twist from time to time… Over the last month I was in the hospital for ten days and am now recovering at home… and I have a surgical procedure in my future, which will slow me down a bit more.
This has put a crimp in my writing time and ability to have stamina to spend any time online. I’m currently only able to walk with a walker and an working on the physical therapy and recovery side of thngs at this point. On the flip side, I’ve had time to watch the Olympics and, well, the Director’s Cut of Rebel Moon.
I’ll say this for Zac Snyder’s Rebel Moon, the Director’s Cut helped me better understand the story, which I wasn’t quite as excited about in the original version on Netflix. I really like the Director’s Cut much better. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I like the Zac Snyder’s Director’s Cut of Justice League a lot more than the feature film cut of that film—and the much longer running time doesn’t bother me one bit.
That’s not to say, I don’t have a plotting issue or two with Rebel Moon, but that’s me being writer critical. Then again, the plot has a Magnificent Seven theme that resonates with me—but doesn’t quite have that “every crook” becoming a hero vibe. Rather the nobel turned into a rebel take behind a number of the characters feels more like fantasy. The closest to crimanal turned reluctant hero is Cora all over—and I do like her conflicted character turned dangerous rebel. Another point in the double features favor is that I do lovee epic space opera.
